Objectives

  • Shared team challenge which invites individual strengths response to complete.

Key Focusing Questions:

  • When given a collective challenge to tackle, how do we allow space for people to play to their strengths?
  • What does this look like, sound like, feel like?

Instructions

  1. Intro – create a movement that best describes you… share with the group then add one until the whole group is performing a synchronized dance which incorporates everyones name/move.
  2. Collective team challenge – Teach (command style) 3x stomps:
  1. CCSS   CCSS   CSCS   CCSS
  2. CCSS    SSCC   SCSC   CSCS
  1. Break off into small groups, challenge to create a 16 count unique to them.
  2. Debrief:
  • Command – efficient, predetermined outcome, instructional, hierarchical etc...does not allow for strengths, one size fits all, empty vessel etc.
  • Divergent – invitational, negotiated, opportunity to allow strengths to be shared, collective buy-in etc...less efficient, but allows for ownership and empowerment - still important to be held by parameters.
